Temperaure update: 47 when we got to Murfreesboro, TN, Fri. night; 63 at Perry (mid-GA) late Sat.; 72 (HURRAH!) when we got to Kissimmee today. When we left Murfreesboro, there was heavy overcast with a little 'spit' in the air. At about Atlanta, it cleared up, and we had to get out the sunglasses. We have been in almost complete sunshine since. The forecast for Nashville to Atlanta to Macon was for snow and freezing rain Sun. night to Mon. night, so it looks like we were about 2 days ahead of the bad stuff - lucked out again.
We got to Kissimmee early today, about 2:00, so we went to the Starbucks in Celebration, had a coffee and scone, watched some guys fishing, and walked around the first lake. We saw several water birds (including a glossy ibis) and one alligator. Then we went to the resort to check in, unpacked, relaxed a little, went for a walk down to the lake, and finally came back and had a small supper. No sign of the nesting Sandhill Crane that we saw last year, but we are about 6 weeks earlier than last year.
