EVEN MORE PHOTOS FROM DISNEY'S BOARDWALK
From the beach in front of the Beach Club resort, looking back to the Swan & Dolphin hotels. Lots of tables (over 100!) on the beach for a catered meal for some large group. Lots of people wearing badges walking around.
Unique landscape design across the canal near the Epcot boat dock.
Plaza in front of the Yacht Club resort entrance.
First bird picture in a long time - ring billed gull.
Roses along the walk to the entrance at the Boardwalk resort.

Lunch here, then we went to Super Target so Linda could get some groceries. I had coffee at Starbucks and read my book. On the way back, we went to Celebration to have a treat and hot tea. Linda says I am misleading you, because she almost always gets Tazo Awake tea, and I write that we stop for coffee. Today, since I already had coffee at Target, we shared her tea and a cranberry-orange scone, one of our favorite things. No walk today, too windy and cool. We went to the library, turned in some books, checked our more books, and read magazines and newspapers. Supper here.
Tomorrow we are going to Ft. Myers for a couple of nights, so I won’t be posting until next Tues. or Wed. We are going to look at some timeshares on Ft. Myers Beach for possible future stays. I’d like to spend our first two weeks or so there every year, but Wyndham has no resorts there, so we have to find our own. We have stayed there a few times, so we know the area and some of the resorts, but are taking a short tour of possible places to stay.
FL WEATHER: High 61, low 37, very sunny but very windy, about 20 mph, gusts up to 30. Tonight, north of here, there are freeze warnings. Probably not damaging, because of the length of time it will be that cold.
FL NEWS: Orlando hotels end 2010 on 'high note':Orlando's hotels ended 2010 with a bang, as crowds drawn to Universal's Wizarding World of Harry Potter helped them to their best December in years. The nation's second-largest hotel market recorded strong gains in the percentage of rooms filled last month — up 11.9 percent from a year ago — and the average price charged for a room — up 10.2 percent from December 2009, according to data released by Smith Travel Research. The International Drive area surrounding Universal Orlando fared the best: Average occupancy there rose 15.4 percent even as room rates jumped 21 percent. But business was also up significantly in other areas, including east Kissimmee, Lake Buena Vista and south Orlando. The overall market's 65.3 percent average occupancy last month was its best December showing in more than a decade, according to Smith Travel Research. The $96.44 average room rate was the best year-end price since 2008. December's numbers continued a string of year-over-year improvements for local hotels that began in June, the month Universal's Harry Potter attraction had its grand opening. Average occupancy in Orlando was 63.2 percent in 2010, up 6.3 percent from the previous year. The average room rate was $91.95, a decline of 1.5 percent from 2009. The poor annual showing in hotels' pricing power last year was largely the result of a rocky first quarter, historically the most profitable period for many local properties.
