TWO DAYS IN REVERSE ORDER
2010 March 13 Saturday
Breakfast at the motel was very crowded. A large church youth group was on a trip, had stayed overnight, and had occupied the entire breakfast room. We finally got some cereal and found a seat on the couch in the lobby. After breakfast, we left the motel and went to Celebration to the library. We read the paper, looked at some of the books they have, and read a little of some of them. Next, we went to downtown Celebration and had our Starbucks break. We watched a man fishing off the dock, and he caught a small bass using a large minnow fishing about 30 feet out in 25 feet of water. He was from Ireland, in the north, and said Galway was in a beautiful area. We talked to a man from Michigan who had taught physics and chemistry for 31 years. We went for lunch at the Market Place Café. It was such a nice day, we walked around lake 1 and a little into the condo area next to the lake along a canal. We then went to get groceries and checked into the resort. Our space here is smaller than at Star Island but adequate. The bedroom has a queen bed, the bathroom has a regular tub-shower, and the kitchen has a very small sink, refrigerator, microwave, and 2-burner stove. The living room has a small table, couch and chair, and nice TV. The best thing is the screened-in patio. We had a light supper here, watched TV, set the clocks ahead one hour, and went to bed at 11:00 (which was actually 10:00).
WEATHER: High 72, low 53. Nearly perfect, except for the 25 to 30 mph wind. It looks good for our last week in FL, with temperatures is the low 70’s but a slight chance of a shower on Thursday.

2010 March 12 Friday
Unfortunately, we have to check out of Star Island this morning and go to a motel for one night. On Saturday we check into Celebration World Resort west of here about 7 miles (it has nothing to do with the town of Celebration that we visit so much). It is about 2 miles south of Rt. 192 in the middle of nothing. It’s close to the resort we stayed at the first week in Orlando. I know, it doesn’t make sense to be moving around like this, but it’s a complicated story. As short as I can make it: Star Island used Wyndham points, and the other two were using RCI. I booked the first week here last September using RCI points, when we decided we would sell our 5th wheel and leave Ft. Myers at the end of January. In December, I booked the stay at Star Island using the (then) recently purchased Wyndham points. We had planned to leave Star Island and go to Hilton Head for two weeks, but the first week there had to be in a motel because there was no availability in a time-share. Then I found an extra vacation here in Kissimmee, at Celebration World Resort. ‘Extra vacations’ is an RCI program in which you pay cash for your stay and use no points. Since the cost was less than the motel at Hilton Head, and a resort stay is much nicer than a motel stay, we cancelled the motel. However, the stays at this resort can’t start on Friday, and Star Island was full. So we had one day between resorts, thus the motel stay. We have decided not to go to Hilton Head at all, so we’ll get home a little early, on March 22.
It was another rainy day, even more so than yesterday. It never poured, but it rained steadily all day into the evening. So we went to The Florida Mall at about 10:00, had a Starbucks break, had a late lunch at Ruby Tuesday’s, and sat in soft padded chairs to watch people and read our books. We checked into the Baymont Inn at about 4:00 and had a light supper of apples, cheese, and crackers in our room. Early to bed.
WEATHER: High 72, low 56. Rained all day, and the two day total is about 4 inches. Two tornadoes were confirmed late yesterday, but they caused minimal damage. Tomorrow is supposed to be much nicer.
