2010 March 15 Monday
After lunch here, we went to Celebration to walk around lake 1, watch the fishermen at the dock, get our Starbucks coffee and treat, and do computer work. As I said yesterday, I now get 2 hours free WIFI at Starbucks, so that works very well - nice table to sit at, a place to plug in, and good coffee to drink. Linda shopped a little, wrote postcards to the grandkids one last time, and read her book. When we got back to the resort, I went for a short bike ride. I found that behind the resort are two ponds, with a walk around one that has exercise stations. A teen was fishing in the 2nd pond, so I talked to him a little. He said he has caught bass there in the past, so I may go fishing some time. I also checked out the pool - not too bad. Similar to Star Island in shape but on a much smaller scale - no waterfalls, no deep part, small walk-in area, smaller hot tub. Near the pool is a very small playground and a large basketball court that may have been a tennis court at one time. Short bike ride, because there are no roads in or out of the resort except at the entrance. The highway does not have a bike lane, and I don’t feel comfortable riding on it with the speeding traffic. So it looks like riding around the resort about 10 times is the best I can get! Supper here, watch TV, then bed time.

WEATHER: High 73, low 48. Nearly perfect, except too cool in the morning and still a little windy - 15 to 20 mph wind. Tomorrow the wind is supposed to go down to 5 to 10 mph. Still a chance of rain on Wednesday.

FL NEWS: “HOLLYWOOD COMES TO CELEBRATION”
Local area residents may get their best chance yet to see their community on the silver screen, as stars and crew members arrived recently in Celebration. While film crews are not an unusual occurrence in Celebration, this project seems to be the most extensive filming yet in our town, with local residents actively involved in the production. Over a dozen residents have speaking roles, and about 35 crew members behind the camera are locals. The film being shot is currently called Homecoming, the story of a young medic who returns for an 18-day visit to her home in a small Middle American community. The director said he chose Celebration from a number of potential locations. Principal photography is expected to be completed by the end of March, and the comedy is scheduled for release in early 2011.
